Early this month we received an email from a homeschool mom asking about our geography bundles. In the course of the email exchanges the mom explained how much her daughter enjoyed the books, but that her daughter really wished we had a Draw the Natural Wonders of Antarctica book.
We don’t have any Antarctica geography books because…well…because…well…it’s awfully cold down there and I’m just not equipped to handle cold like that. Not sure I could even type on a keyboard or move a mouse around. Plus the computer screen would probably fog up. It’s doubtful the computer would even work in that kind of cold.
But the mom said her daughter said:
“After all…it is the 7th continent!”
Well…..yes it is.
So after buying a bunch of Antarctic clothing we started work on Draw Antarctica, which is very close to completion (we just ordered the proof). My hands are freezing!
Draw Antarctica will be our shortest Draw the World book and the paperback will be half price compared to all the others ($9.99 retail and $7.99 here on ARTK12). We will be creating a hardback version with lots of photos from Antarctica (Amazon prints our books and requires at least 77 pages for a hardback), so it will retail at the same price as our other hardbacks ($32.95 on Amazon, $26.95 here on ARTK12).
“But ARTK12, what about a Draw the Natural Wonders of Antarctica book?”
We will be keeping that in mind. That’s a bigger time commitment as it requires far more research, along with lots of drawings. Hopefully we’ll get to it down the road, possibly after we complete our fourth and fifth body books: Draw the Human Body: Skeleton and Find the Bones.
Draw Antarctica will be out in July and we are planning to add it to the paperback bundle at no extra cost.
