The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is the most visited tomb in Arlington Cemetery. Despite former presidents and well-known war heroes in this National resting place no tomb or grave comes even close to the amount of people paying their respects to this nameless soldier from World War I, The Great War.
Who chose this soldier? When was the tomb created? Who are the soldiers that guard the tomb twenty-four hours a day?
Along with drawing this solemn tomb your students will learn the history of this great American symbol of bravery, service and a soldier’s ultimate sacrifice for his country.
