Errata

The errata is a list of errors in the current printed versions of our books along with corrections. If you find errors please contact ARTK12 (info@artk12.com) immediately so that we may list corrections here and fix them in the next edition. Current ARTK12 in print books in which we have found errors are listed below.


Draw Europe

The current edition is missing the country of Malta. Thanks Ricky for seeing this.
This will be fixed in the next edition.

Page 40 shows Lichtenstein as LI on the map, but says LT in the description……the correct abbreviation is “LI”.
This will be fixed in the next edition.

Page 8 says: “The Black Sea is east of…..”
It should say: “The Black Sea is west of….”
This has been fixed in the current edition.


Draw the USA

Page 36: In the text on the lower left Arkansas is abbreviated “AK”. It should be “AR”. This will be fixed in the next edition.

Currently Arkansas is abbreviated as “AK”. It should be “AR”. This is fixed in the current edition.
This has now been fixed in the current edition.

Connecticut is abbreviated as CN, it should be CT. This will be fixed soon.
This has now been fixed in the current edition.

On page 43 Oklahoma is abbreviated as ND. This will be fixed shortly. Thanks to a student for noticing this!
This has been fixed in the current edition.


Draw Africa

No errors at this time.


Draw the World

On page 20 it says, “Add the western shore.” It should say, “Add the eastern shore.”
This will be fixed in the next edition.


Draw Canada and Greenland

Page 14, bottom left. It should say “Itchy” instead of “Itcy”.

Page 21. The Birdman forgery is wrong. The “Original” is actually the forgery. The “Forgery” is the original.

Page 18, end of 2nd paragraph reads “…the history American art.” Should be “…the history of American art.”

Page 106, the painting at the top of the page is named incorrectly. It is not the Fox Hunt, it is “The Gulf Stream, 1899, Oil on canvas, 28 1/8 x 49 1/8 in.”.

Page 133, subtitle reads, “Inspiring you to pic up…” Should be “inspiring you to pick up…”

The dates for Frederic Remington are 1861 – 1901. They should be 1861 – 1909.

Creation of the World

The caption should read, “…thirteenth-century…”, not fourteenth-century. This will be fixed in the next edition.


The Worse for It

Page 233: It says, “…they docked on December 21, 1918…” It should say, “December 21, 1917…” This has been fixed in all current editions.


A Christmas Carol

On several pages in both editions “Dickens'” should be “Dickens’s”. This  has been fixed in all editions.

On page 86 in the hardback and page 84 in the paperback “Ignorance” is spelled incorrectly as “Ignoance”. This  has been fixed in all editions.


Frankenstein

In the Pre-Flight, on page 6, “villain” was spelled incorrectly as “villian”. This has been fixed in the September 2023 edition.

In my copy of “Draw the USA,” both Alaska and Arkansas are listed with the abreviation “AK.”

Balkan is spelled wrong repeatedly in the sample pages from Draw Europe. I was going to purchase this, but now I will not be buying.

Thanks for catching that. I must have put up those images before we proofed the book. I’ve checked the book and the spelling is correct there. I’ll change the images shortly. Update: The image has been changed on the website to reflect the book.

Why does it list the version of the Bird man tablet that is used as the drawing project, on the Bingo cards and on p. 18 as the forgery (Chapter 2, p. 21 American Art History Vol. 1)? Isn’t the other one the forgery?

The template for Iroquois Art in the pdf available under downloads on the website (Drawing-Guide-Vol-1-American-Art.pdf) is different than the template and instructions in the book Drawing American Art Vol. I.
